Due to my written blog hiatus, I’m off to a late start, but better late than never!
In my OOTW posts, I’ll be sharing outfits that I wore during the week. My goal is to give you a quick look at how I create my style, including where I sourced my pieces as well as where to find a suitable alternative if applicable. I am constantly making an effort to make my wardrobe more sustainable, primarily through secondhand shopping. I’d say 85%-90% of my closet is secondhand or has existed in my wardrobe for years. With that said, I do still have some firsthand buys. Remember it’s okay to have some balance, as long as you’re constantly making an effort!
Don’t be surprised if you see repeat looks from week to week. I absolutely love repeating, because that means I found something that I feel really amazing in!
Okay. Let’s get started. This week, I only photographed three looks.
Sunday
This is one of my absolute favorite styles. I’ve always been a little more on the grunge/punky side. It’s just something I feel very natural in. This is a very 90s look that is currently v trendy, especially among people who love secondhand or thrift shopping. However, I feel like this look is more than just clothes. It definitely comes with a certain personality too. Anyone can wear it, but to really pull it off you need some serious IDGAF attitude.
- Flannel: Great Lakes Thrift Note: Can find amazing secondhand items at any thrift/vintage store. I love using the depop app!
- Jeans: Vintage Levi 550, Sizo+Peny. Can shop similar pants here.
- Belt: Danny’s closet <3
- Slippers: Gifted from Danny
- Scrunchie: Ulta Beauty Note: I buy a lot of my hair accessories and makeup from Ulta as I currently work there. Sometimes the budget does come first!
Wednesday
I remember wanting to be super comfortable and lazy on this day. Usually that means I end up in leggings and a sweatshirt with some fuzzy socks. However I wanted to feel a little more put together. This jumpsuit is so so so comfortable. Baggy but still fitted enough to be comfortable and presentable at the same time. I through on a turtleneck underneath to keep warm but still look cute.
- Turtleneck: Cuddl duds. Note: Not an ethical buy. Cuddl duds are great for cold weather/lounging, but as a brand they don’t even mention any company ethics or where their materials are sourced and made.
- Overalls/jumpsuit: Kismet Collections
- Combat boots: Doc Martens Note: I didn’t buy mine secondhand but it is so easy to shop these secondhand. If I bought more docs now, I highly doubt I’d buy them straight out of the store.
Friday
This is one of my absolute favorite looks. You will definitely be seeing this again! As I said with the first look, I love an edgy, grunge look. It is truly where I feel my best. Also, monochromatic looks definitely give a vibe.
- T-shirt: I honestly don’t even remember where I got this from… I’ve had this for at least one year. I’d either look through secondhand stores/apps or anywhere with sustsustainable basics. Here is a dupe from Everlane. I learned about everyone from sustainable fashion blogger, Jess with Less.
- Sweater: Nordstrom Topshop, secondhand off of depop!
- Belt: Danny’s closet, again <3
- Pants: Vintage Liz Clayborne, Great Lakes Thrift. Find similar options here.
- Combat boots: Doc Martens, again: recommend buying secondhand!
Well, there you have it! A few of my looks from this week. I hope you enjoyed! Stay tuned for next week’s looks.
